Intro to Flameworked Beads is a three-hour foray into the magical world of glass flameworking. After basic introduction to melting and shaping glass with an oxy-propane torch, create your own glass beads in a similar fashion to how it has been done in Venice for nearly 1,000 years.

What to expect: Glass flameworking is an art that requires a bit practice. The class will start with a brief safety discussion and introduction to working with glass at the torch, we'll walk you through several demonstrations and then you'll have plenty of time to create your very own beads. Expect to not achieve perfectly round beads the first time. You may have beads crack on you or stick to the mandrel; expect your successful beads to be fun, quirky shapes and sizes, and expect the experience to one for the memory books.

No prior experience required! We welcome ages 12 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Pick-up: All pieces made will need to be annealed in the kiln overnight. Please plan to return the following day to pick up your work. We can also arrange for work to be shipped (cost for shipping is not included in the price of the class).

Dates: Wednesday from 10:00am - 1:00pm (10:00-13:00) and Fridays from 3:00pm - 6:00pm (15:00-18:00)
